Pure cow ghee melts at approximately 32°C to 35°C — lower than human body temperature (37°C). Place 1/2 teaspoon on your palm; real ghee dissolves effortlessly into liquid within 15 seconds. If it remains waxy or greasy, hydrogenated palm fat is present.
The Gentle Heat Pan Test (ہلکی آنچ کا تجربہ)
Put a spoonful of ghee in a clean pan on low flame. Pure ghee melts instantly and turns a rich golden-amber brown with a sweet nutty aroma. Adulterated ghee takes minutes to melt and leaves a white or cloudy curd residue.
Iodine Test for Starch & Potato (نشاستے کا ٹیسٹ)
Melt a tablespoon of ghee and add 2 to 3 drops of tincture iodine. If the solution turns purple or blue, mashed potatoes or industrial starch have been blended in to mimic danedar texture. Pure ghee retains its natural color.
Fridge Granulation Test (دانے دار بناوٹ کا ٹیسٹ)
